This is our first ever blog post and boy are we excited.
County Roots (if you don’t know) is a new company started by three friends. The aim of our little start-up is to design and produce merchandise inspired by the counties of England.
When we were growing up, the county we came from didn’t have much to do with anything, other than maybe if you got selected to play a sport for them, or if you were addressing a letter for your Mum or Dad, but now that we are older we have a strong pull and a sort of loyalty to the counties which we call home.
It seems that many people share this feeling so we thought it might be nice to show this pride off, by wearing a T-shirt that shouts “Salopian” or sporting a wooly hat knitted in your county colours (each one has them ya’ know).
We are not a year into this endeavour yet, and so far we have one product on sale. Our “Shire Boy” and “Shire Girl” T-shirts are available in a wide variety of sizes and are on sale at £16 + P&P. I want one!
Now that the website is up and running and our first T-shirts are on sale we feel more motivated than ever! We are working with artists to come up with our next design and product as well as researching the histories of our own home counties.
